Application Instructions

Fixing of load bearing insulation boards to floors
  1. Prior to the fixing of load bearing insulation boards, the floor should be made level and dust free. Any slight imperfections in the substrate will normally be taken up in the thickness of the tile adhesive. However, the floor should be made as level as possible before laying the boards into the adhesive, perhaps by the use of a levelling compound.
  2. Load bearing insulation boards can be bonded to the substrate using any good quality rapid setting tile adhesive.
  3. The adhesive should be applied with a 4mm notched trowel. After placing on to the adhesive, each board should be firmly bedded to ensure maximum adhesion is achieved.
  4. Boards should be laid in a chequer plate manner (i.e. staggered joints); this is in accordance with good building practice.
  5. The top of the load bearing insulation board joints should be taped prior to the application of any under tile heating element for floor tile adhesive being laid.
  6. Load bearing insulation boards should not be laid loose
UNUSED BOARDS ARE NON-RETURNABLE
